It is with deep sadness we share the news of the passing of Dr Catherine Hamlin, co-founder of Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia.
On Wednesday March 18th Catherine passed away peacefully at her home on the grounds of the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia where she has lived for 61 years.
Well done good and faithful servant may you rest now knowing you made a difference to the lives of so many women. Deepest sympathy to family and friends. The most beautiful soul in the earth has left but her legacy will live on.
Saddened to hear of Dr Hamlin’s passing. A life more than well lived, selflessly and wholly in service to others. A true angel. Time for a well earned rest
Vale to Catherine Hamlin, a truely wonderful woman. She was a saint and a great doctor who cared for those that had been fore-saken by their families and communities. Remembered forever.

It is sad to hear of the passing of this amazing woman. She made a difference to the lives of so many women in need of proper care at a truly vulnerable time of their lives and gave them hope for their futures. Her legacy is a lasting one and though I never got to meet her personally she has inspired me. She had courage to create a better life for others.

So sad to hear of the passing of a truly remarkable woman. Having read her book so many years ago, I was so inspired by her in so many ways. We have seen the passing of a true saint, whose legacy will live on.
I was saddened to hear that Dr. Catherine Hamlin had died. She and her husband Reg. gave up their lives to help those poor women in Ethiopia. The money they raised went into training others to carry on their work and to set up the Fistula Foundation. They were an example to us all. Rest in peace Catherine.

I vividly remember the day long, field trip we took to visit Fistula Hospital during my high school days, and personally meeting Dr. Hamlin! Her passing is a great loss to Ethiopia, Australia & indeed the world. The assuring consolation is all of her compassionate life work, etched deeply in all she’s touched. May she finally use the road she took her time to pave in gold, taking her straight to the pearly gates of heaven. RIP…Dr. Hamlin.🙏🏾🙏🏾
