Dr Catherine Hamlin was a wonderful caring person who lived a rich and fulfilled life doing what she loved – caring for those in need. Along with her husband Dr Reg Hamlin they made a huge difference. Very sad at her passing but such a wonderful legacy she has left behind.

I have read the book The Hospital by the River. Very impressed, interesting and a fabulous effort. Look forward to meeting You in Heaven. May Your Faith and Legacy continue.

The nearest to a Saint that I will ever know.

I am so saddened today to learn that the world has lost such a wonderful person. I first met Dr Hamlin when I visited her hospital by the river in Addis Ababa. She was so welcoming and kind to us. It was the most inspiring moment of my life and taught me what real devotion, dedication and love for others is all about. I pray she rests peacefully now with her beloved Reg.

Truly a remarkable and inspiring woman, thank you for all you did to change the lives of so many women. RIP Saint Catherine

I’ve just finished reading “The Hospital By The River”.
Catherine Hamlin was an amazing lady & just as amazing was her wonderful husband, Richard.
I’m totally blown away from reading this beautiful book .
I picked this book up at a local charity store for $1..
I feel so humble after reading this book.. I didn’t want the book to finish
The dedication administered by Catherine & Richard towards the fistula patients of Ethiopa has enriched my life .
Catherine’s enduring love for people will always stay in my memory .
Long may her dream & work continue for all women who face this horrifying adversity .

As a practicing general surgeon in the United States, I was touched and humbled upon discovering how this extraordinary physician dedicated her life to helping others. She truly made this world a much better place with her special knowledge, unique compassion, and self-sacrifice. The world has lost one of its angels.

You’re light will shine on with the legacy you have left behind. You are a legend. An inspiration. There are no words for the gratitude we feel for all the love, kindness and healing you have imbued the world with. Thankyou so very very much. R.I.P

RIP Dr. Catherine Hamlin !! The Saint “Emaye ”

A humanitarian in every sense of the word.

As a teacher I watched a documentary on the work of the Hamlin’s in Ethiopia. I cried with sorrow and then joy as the Hamlin’s changed the lives of so many desperate young women. Totally inspired by Catherine Hamlin incredible life.

What an amazing human. Thank you for your care, dedication, and un-bounded love.

I am so saddened by the passing of Dr Catherine Hamlin. I have no words to express her dedication and humanity towards my fellow vulnerable Ethiopian women. To me she is an angel on earth and she will always remain my inspiration. It is my greatest hope her legacy continues to fulfil her dream of eradicating fistula.
