A heartfelt tribute to the memory of the remarkable Dr Catherine Hamlin. Her skill and compassion helping and healing the girls and women of Ethiopia for so many years is deeply admired. She and her late husband Reg trained young women their medical skills in the hospital by the river ~ a worthy legacy to the deserving young women of Ethiopia.

Catherine has been one of the most inspiring women in my life. She has been a true example to the world of the good that can be done if you follow your convictions.

Thank you for your love and compassion to the suffering young women you have given new life to over these many years and your life work will continue

I was sorry to hear about Miss Catherine. I have followed her and her husband’s work for a few years, read her book, and recognize what wonderful people they both were. Their lives are truly an example to be followed. I’m sure everyone there will miss her terribly.

Catherine was an inspiration as a woman of faith, courage and vision. Loved being with her and watching her care for those around her.

what a wonderful person she was…a saint and Christian woman who has earnt rest back with her beloved husband Reg..an amazing woman, who worked endlessly and tirelessly to improve the lives of the poor and damaged women of Ethiopia where medical intervention is not always available. She and her husband were selfless in their work, helping women who were scorned and abandoned by most in their society and country. Her wonderful book will have you in awe of her and Regs lives…and make you both glad and proud to be Australian, and so grateful for our obstetric care. I will be forever in awe of both of them, humanitarians in every sense of the word. Sleep tight and rest in peace Catherine with your husband in the presence of God..Ethiopia and the world were a better place with you in them ❤️

You were such a wonderful caring mother of your patients. Your legacy remains for ever.
