I first met Dr Catherine in 2002, not aware of what a legend she was. Her humility and gentle disposition was palpable then. I have always said since that it was like meeting a living saint. Long may her legacy continue, as we reflect on her life’s work. RIP Dr Catherine, and as we’d say in Ireland Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam…

A wonderful woman who gave so much of herself to help women with great needs. Grateful for her abounding love and joy,

She was able to leave the world a far better place for her life – that should be the most any of us can hope for.

I had the privilege of meeting Catherine when I was pregnant with my second child. It was such an honour and an overwhelmingly emotional experience as she spoke of her work and showed pictures of the women whose lives she had transformed.
If one wishes to see what a life fully spent for the glory of God looks like, Catherine’s is a shining example.
Now she stands in glory, face to face with her beloved Saviour whom she so faithfully served all her days, hearing his words “well done, good and faithful servant”. May many come to know Jesus’ love through her life and legacy.

A truley great woman who brought such positive change to the lives of countless people during her lifetime and trained so many to continue that work. An ever selfless soul with a heart that had no bounds. She has made the world a better place. May we all learn from her, even if only in some small way.

Goodbye Cath Hamlin. Thankyou for being such an inspiration to us. You showed us how much good doing just one thing, really well, can do. You showed us truly Christian love for some of the most marginalised in our world and that a good life needn’t be full of ‘things’ but full of the good we can give. Cath is on the left, Corona Adams in the middle, and Goosie (Hayman) on the right during their med school and EU days.

I have seen Bangladeshi women go home smiling and confident after surgery done by doctors trained by Catherine’s hospital.

Condolences to all the family and loved ones of an amazing lady. I hope that the happy memories will take over from the sad ones that you may be having at present.

I have always admired both Catherine and her husband’s call and subsequent life’s work in Ethiopia … well done good and faithful servant .

RIP Dr Hamlin. Hv heard great things about your work in Ethiopia especially from a dear friend who is close to the programs u started. We thank u for what u gave of yourself and left for the world 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Dr. Catherine Hamlin is a good fistula surgeon, but any OBGYN with resonable training can close a hole in the bladder. What is different with her is she repairs a broken heart of a woman & she heals the soul of a woman.

Was a real blessing meeting Dr Catherine at her hospital in Addis Ababa in 2008. We, as a group of Kiwis, were there on a Habitat for Humanity short term mission. It was truly inspiring seeing what could be achieved when ones focus and motivation is love and service for people.

Catherine was truly an amazing woman who most definitely left an incredible impact on many people lives. I chose Dr. Hamlin to complete a year long research project on at school as I was inspired by her work and dedication in making a true difference for countless women. Her devotion and kindness will definitely be missed, although her legacy lives on, mighty strong. She showed the world her endless compassion, perseverance and courage through her work in Ethiopia with women, indefinitely inspiring so many others. All my condolences to her family and loved ones, Rest In Peace Catherine Hamlin, indeed the most beautiful soul.

I am so sad to read this as I have followed her work for years as an interested Australia living overseas. What an extraordinary woman and an inspiration to so many …. today there is another saint in heaven.

Such a wonderful, caring and talented lady. Her remarkable legacy will live on through the hospital and it’s incredible work. I remember having a fund raising lunch for Catherine’s work and it was wonderful seeing friends excited about what she and Reg had accomplished. The world needs more people like the wonderful Hamlin.
