Catherine’s lifetime devoted to curing young women in Ethiopia of fistulas has always had a personal side for me. I too had several fistula repairs after the birth of my first daughter at Crown St hospital in 1976 and I realised how lucky I was to have access to doctors who could help me. I’m sure those thousands of women Dr Hamlin assisted will be mourning her passing as I am.
